THE 2020 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA IS HARDLY A BASE MODEL

November 19th, 2019 by

The 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera is one of the new 992 models. This new generation has received some significant changes to keep it fresh. All new 992s are getting a wider stance previously used only on the GTS and all-wheel-drive models. This gives the 911 Carrera a more muscular look and a wider wheel track including a 2-inch wider front wheel spacing. Other changes include slightly flattened headlight bubbles, a square front trunk lid, the addition of a reflector bar visually connecting the rear taillights, and the rear spoiler has been widened to extend into the fenders.

The wider stance gives the 911 Carrera a very positive driving experience, aided by its electric power steering system. Also, the rear tires are now larger in diameter for additional road contact and stability. The base engine is a twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six developing 379 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with the dual-clutch 8-speed PDK automatic transmission with manual shifting mode for buttery smooth shifts. The driver can choose between Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus modes for a variety of shifting behaviors.

The instrument cluster retains Porsche’s traditional style with the analog tachometer centered in front of the driver. To the left are driver and safety assistance systems, and the right side contains the navigation map and other features. The interior ergonomics are excellent with plenty of room in the front and useful driver features such as a steering column that can be lowered to suit the driver.

The 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera will be available as either a coupe or a cabriolet. For more information on this new generation of 911 Carrera, please contact Manhattan Motorcars at 866-325-1538.
