Porsche Unveils New 911 GT3-R
This May, the 911 GT3 R was unveiled at Nürburgring racing track in Germany. This track is home to the German endurance classic. The Porsche 911 GT3 R will make its full customer racing debut in 2019, but for now, spectators can observe the vehicle’s exterior and specs.
Acting as the latest FIA GT3-spec contender released by Porsche, the 911 GT3 R has a 4 liter, flat six power plant engine capable of an estimated 550 horsepower. The vehicle is also built from a lightweight carbon fiber hood, wheel arches, doors, and side and rear tail sections. The lightweight design of the body improves the vehicle’s athletic performance on the track. Plus, the 911 GT3 R has a new fully automatic clutch and braking system that increases the precision of the ABS system. For the first time in a Porsche GT3-spec, this vehicle has an air conditioning system. Other interesting features are the fixed-position driver’s seat, side-impact panels, and fuel cell that can be filled from the left and right sides of the vehicle. This allows the car to perform more versatilely at racing tracks across the globe.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R is yet another example of Porsche’s dominance in the racing industry. This sleek, aerodynamic, and powerful car is impressive to racers and ordinary drivers alike. While the vehicle has yet to make its customer debut, drivers can still check out other 911 vehicles on the market.
