Manhattan Lamborghini Huracan near Long Island
Although technically the “entry-level” Lamborghini, there is nothing about the Huracan that is at the beginner’s level. Look at the sharp aerodynamic lines, then get up close and see the fine Italian craftsmanship. This motorcar screams power, prestige, and strength.
As you walk to the rear of the car, you see the 5.2 liter amidships-mounted V-10 sitting quietly, waiting for you to press the start button. When you do, you will have a rocket ship that can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. Harnessing that power is the Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (LDF) 7-speed gearbox with dual clutches.
For the highest performance level, this power plant is embedded in a frame made from an aluminum/carbon fiber hybrid. Lamborghini then dresses the combination in an outer skin made from aluminum and composites. The suspension is an aluminum double-wishbone design for strength and stability. The steering is precise, using an electrically enhanced power steering, with an optional LDS system with variable ratio steering.
Looking at the Lamborghini Huracan from afar isn’t good enough, you need to step inside and drive it. Sliding into the driver’s seat, with optional full electric adjustment controls, you immediately sense you are not sitting in a motorcar, but in the bridge seat of a modern ship, or an aircraft cockpit. Lamborghini’s designers took the position that the driver is key to the interior design, and placed everything in relation to the driver’s position. The result is a cockpit worthy of the finest supercar. There is no doubt, the Huracan is one of the world’s finest.
When you start the Huracan, the naturally aspirated V-10 gives a throaty sound that leaves no doubt you have power available at your command. The 12.3 inch TFT dashboard comes to life, lighting the cockpit with a warm glow. All controls are close at hand, with auxiliary gauges, navigation controls, and climate control easily found with your right hand. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather, with optional suede available.
Press the accelerator pedal, and the Huracan becomes a beast, capable of over 202 mph. Of course, in normal driving you will take control of this power, resulting in smooth acceleration and seamless shifting. Stopping this much power might be an issue, but Lamborghini makes sure you have the same control at hand with six-piston front disc calipers and four-piston calipers in the rear, using a hydraulic dual-circuit system.
