Lamborghini Aventador Pirelli
The successful Lamborghini Aventador has been enhanced by the addition of the Aventador Pirelli Edition. This new model is available as a coupe or roadster. The two-color paint scheme features the characteristic Pirelli thin red stripe placed along the roofline, hood, outside mirrors, and the air vent profiles.
The red line carries through into the interior passenger compartment and seats, with additional seat detailing using the Lamborghini and Pirelli logos. To finish off the unique design, each vehicle will include a “Pirelli serie speciale” or “Pirelli special edition” plate.
The power plant in the Aventador Pirelli is a 6.5 liter V-12 which develops 690 horsepower and 507 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed gearbox with independent shift rods. Power is delivered to an electronically controlled all-wheel drive system with a self-locking mechanical rear differential. The result is a rated maximum speed of 217 mph and a 0-62 mph acceleration in 2.9 seconds.
The Aventador Pirelli chassis is carbon fiber using a monocoque design. Carbon fiber is also used in the engine hood, rear air inlets, and the spoiler. Other body parts use aluminum and synthetic materials. Aerodynamic design enhancements are provided by the 3-position rear spoiler and a completely paneled underbody to reduce drag.
Superb handling is provided by the double wishbone fully independent suspension using push rod passive monotube configuration with horizontal dampers and springs. Electronic stability control is standard and is integrated with the antilock braking and traction control systems. Steering is aided by a hydraulic assist. Positive braking is assured with the carbon-ceramic brakes with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers. The front and rear discs are ventilated and cross-drilled carbon-ceramic.
